I’ve had instances where people looked at color and their whole body broke out the way it did when they had an experience when they were 4 or 5. Or people would look at a color and all of the sudden smell the same chemical they had when they were hospitalized. I’ve had people who were physically abused who have looked at a color and their body broke out with the same scars and wounds on their body that they had when they had, in fact I have photographs of it.
Let’s say you had an experience your life that was disturbing. At an early time in life when you couldn’t really assimilate it properly and it sort of stayed in your system without being able to be digested because experiences are like food, you take them in and you digest it and so on than you excrete it. But when you have something that’s too much for you to handle because it’s early in your life or whatever, it just gets stuck in your system on some level. Well what is an experience? It’s a series of energies, frequencies. If it happens to have, if the experience that was traumatic to you, I say traumatic to you because it may not appear traumatic to anyone else, but traumatic to you, if it has the same energetic configuration as the color that you’re looking at or the sound that you’re hearing or the smell that you’re smelling or that which you’re tasting, it will trigger it up. It becomes a homeopathic remedy. Life does it all the time. You encounter people all the time that are just like your mother or your dad or something and boom you have this big reaction, you don’t even know exactly why, you’re sure it’s them, it’s something they did. The same can occur with a color except light is so powerful that it slips beneath conscious awareness so the mind can’t block it. So a little bit of light can go a very long way. It can tap into a very deep part of your system. So people react to colors because they have the same vibrational equivalent as a prior experience, who knows when it occurred, that had that same vibrational equivalent but wasn’t able to be digested or assimilated.
It just has the same vibrational equivalence. It may not have had anything to do with the colors in the space. People will look at a color and all of the sudden, I’ve had instances where people looked at color and their whole body broke out the way it did when they had an experience when they were 4 or 5. Or people would look at a color and all of the sudden smell the same chemical they had when they were hospitalized. I’ve had people who were physically abused who have looked at a color and their body broke out with the same scars and wounds on their body that they had when they had, in fact I have photographs of it. It’s interesting what can happen with a simple color. So to assume that red does this and blue does this is to make something which is very deep and complex, to try to make it into a cookbook, and sure.
There’s no question we seem to get more excited by reds and oranges than usually we have with blues and indigos and violets. After all those are the energies in the sky’s when we wake up and at the end of the day the sky looks purple and so on. So there’s something to be said about that. And perhaps that’s how the ancients came up with these theories and practices but we’ve been here for a long time. We are light deprived as a culture. We are emotionally deprived. We are deprived of human contact. A system doesn’t respond in the same old way as it use to when we lived outdoors all the time so to apply those simple cookbook approaches, it’s very over-simplified. I spent so many years working with people and I never found two that responded the same way to a specific color, in fact I would routinely do presentations in workshop formats for 50 to 100 to 200 people, all sitting in a dark room, all looking at the same projector, all looking at the same color, and all having totally different reactions, one feeling totally calm, one starting to have an anxiety attack.
So what I found is that is that I was able to utilize color as a way to give someone a taste of an experience where they could begin to accept more of themselves, where they could begin to embrace more of themselves, and what happens is when they become comfortable with what use to be uncomfortable, their life changed. What use to trigger them and take them away from the moment became less of a trigger when no longer was a trigger.
