We need a lot of mentors. We need as many people on the job as possible that are just ordinary human beings who in some way have found out that little simple aspect of life and can in someone share it through their actions even though they may not have the words, they don’t speak about it in the same way we’re speaking about it. It could just be the way they rake leaves and so on. I have such respect for people that do their work impeccably in that way. I just bought a car yesterday alright, and I was impressed because the car was so beautifully cared for and it’s the way that I enjoy doing things and it told me so much about that. But we’re in a busy time and for whatever reason we get very caught up, whether it’s our make up or what, I don’t know, our nature, and there are very few people I find, very few people that have the experiences we’re talking about right now.
So I’m not sure exactly what to do with that. I don’t know whether it’s just a new technology or what. Again for me, maybe it’s just the way I am, I see that it’s one person at a time, it’s one action at a time, it’s one something at a time. I flew in yesterday and I sat next to this lovely lady, I started speaking and I realized by the end of the conversation we had both been affected. We had both been deeply touched in some way. My feeling is that that connection is contagious. That is really what we’re sharing, whether it be that inner light, that caring for each other, because if we don’t have that connection, then there’s no listening. But if that connection is there, even minimal words go a long way. We get touched and whether we get touched it stays with us, we don’t have to remember it. It’s that thing you talked about being able to look back. It stays with us. We get touched in some deep way and perhaps that will be the heart of your project is to share with as many people as possible, a few people with lives, of how ordinary people got touched. And maybe that’s the way we share it with each other.
But you know media is very powerful. I’m thinking of the movies that are coming out these days, bringing awareness to the public, the mass public, about major issues. So maybe there’s a wonderful opportunity to use that medium in a very powerful way to get out a very necessary message. I think it’s really important that we talk about it in an ordinary way. Obviously it’s nice to have substantiation and so on but I don’t know where that turn took place in history where all of the sudden we decided we needed to prove everything we always knew.
And what I found from my life is the things that use to trigger that for me were the aspects of life I was allergic to; people, circumstances, events, memories, or something would happen and I would have an allergic reaction. I would get triggered, if you will. Well what I discovered about color which was very, very interesting is that everyone responds to color but in an individualized fashion. The old school of thought is well red does this, blue does this, and green does this. There was some truth to that but mostly what I find is everybody responds but they respond according to their own make up. So I found is that people were receptive to some colors and allergic to others. The ones they were receptive to they felt very much at ease being present with. As soon as they interacted with a color that they felt allergic to, they reacted rather than responding. They got triggered and their ability to be present went away very, very quickly.
Right. And it tells you a lot about an individual. Not only what their favorite color is but you can from that look at what their least favorite color is and that tells you a lot not only about the person but about parts of their body where they may have traumas and so on. So what I did is I developed technology that would allow people to systematically look at all of the colors starting out with a very small bits of time and gradually increasing their ability to stay present with something that use to trigger them. It’s meditation in action. And what happens is as they slowly were able to breathe with something that use to create a reaction, their life expanded because they began to embrace that which they avoided or recoiled from. I did it in a very gentle way. It might just be a few seconds per color because light is very potent.
Very quick stimulation from light of the wrong color can really trigger up a lot. So first of all I always told doctors don’t ever work with anyone you don’t love. If you don’t really care for the patient, don’t work with them. Refer them to someone else because the relational dynamic is the most important aspect. It’s the foundation upon which our technology has the opportunity to be effective or not be effective. So the relationship needs to be there. You work in a way with someone where you invite change rather than try to create change. You don’t do anything to change the person because it’s volitional. What you do is you create an environment where if the timing is appropriate for an opening to occur, it occurs on its own and they discover it at the same moment you do. I never had an agenda for where someone should go, I mean I did in the early phases of my work but after a while I realized that my interaction with the person is what guided the process.
