“TV and compulsory schooling do the same thing but differently…” John Taylor Gatto

Bored, reparative, rote, uncritical, uncreative, unimaginative, easily influenced, subservient to authority, behavior modification and obedience trained… the perfect consumer. Herd mentality is the goal of both.

'Form is Content' and when conditioning is the goal content and standards are a hoax, a distraction to hide from view the deeper conditioning agenda. This is no secret. It is in plain view, but he conditioning is so good that few have the capacity, attention or ability to question how the system operates.

For example, hot off the press.

The Republican Party of Texas has issued their 2012 political platform and has come out and blatantly opposed critical thinking in public schools throughout the state or any school for that matter.

We oppose the teaching of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) (values clarification), critical thinking skills and similar programs that are simply a relabeling of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) (mastery learning) which focus on behavior modification and have the purpose of challenging the student's fixed beliefs and undermining parental authority." (page 20, Republican Party of Texas, 2012).

Thinking is subversive, imagination is a sin and the Republican Party in Texas and elsewhere is working to codify this into public policy. Dumb is good. Dumber is better.

This is nothing new. Joseph McCarthy, (R) Senator from Wisconsin, used similar strategies ushering in one of the most repressive periods in 20th-century American politics.

One of Hitler’s first moves was to shut down all Waldorf schools.

As a result, I arrived in Stuttgart eight months after Hitler had been elected chancellor of Germany on January 30, 1933. As a student in the Waldorf Teacher Training Course, I came to realize that the Nazi government was gradually tightening a noose in the hope that the school would sooner or later close on its own. The Jewish teachers had to leave, and there was to be no new first grade. Every lesson had to begin with a "Heil Hitler" salute, and parents got into trouble if their children were not enrolled in a Hitler Youth Group. The school, however, did not give in. Finally, in March, 1938, the school was forced to close by government order. It was publicly stated that the function of education was to prepare the coming generation to be citizens of the state. There was no room in Germany for a school whose goal was to educate children to think for themselves as adults. [or in Texas]
